Virginia Beach's opioid education could soon be model for schools across Virginia

Since 2007, prescription opioids have been the top category of drugs contributing to death in Virginia, according to a recent report by the state Health Department. In the first nine months of 2017, there were 487 prescription opioid-related deaths. That was more than the 472 total in all of 2016.
