Tennis legend Jimmy Connors[1] read my story about Tiger Woods[2] wanting a rematch with Phil Mickelson[3] and had a suggestion.

Connors was at the Tiger-Phil match with his friend and former protégé Andy Roddick, and tweeted[4] “good fun and conversation — if another match with Tiger & Phil — I’d say — maybe I should play Borg in a 3 of 5 set match for the warm-up — your thoughts????”

Jimbo was referring to his nemesis Björn Borg, who dominated tennis between 1974 and 1981, winning 11 Grand Slam titles and beating Connors twice in the Wimbledon finals.

One fan replied, “Jimmy, you have to do it! In 1974, you said that you would follow Borg to the end of the Earth and beat him.” Another said, “I would go to the end of the world to see that match.”

Maybe they aren’t aware that Connors is 66 and Borg is 62.
