Michael Musto[1] — who has outlived the Village Voice, where he wrote a column for many years — is now an actor as well as a writer.

Having played a mad doctor in “Vamp Bikers Tres,” he is now portraying a godfather in “Japanese Borscht,” another movie from low-budget auteur Eric Rivas.

“I’m playing a gay Mafioso named Uncle,” Musto told me. “He’s barbaric — he’s a mobster — and his sexuality proves that some very rotten people can be gay. Look at Milo and Jeffrey Dahmer!”

When another character calls him Liberace, Musto’s Uncle replies, “Before I smack the crap out of you, I’m gonna turn you into a Liberace.” In another scene, shot in Rockefeller Center, Musto walked another actor, who was down on all fours, on a leash.

The cast includes[2] club owner and producer Noel Ashman, porn star Ron Jeremy[3] and Ángel Salazar of “Carlito’s Way” and “Scarface.”
