O’Rourke, who has been gushingly compared to Bobby Kennedy and Barack Obama, held a fund-raiser this summer in Manhattan, which drew Paul Rudd, Michael Urie and Stephanie March.
“Texans might not like the elite company he’s keeping in New York, but O’Rourke doesn’t have a choice,” said one Democrat. “He needs the money.”
Hillary Clinton will headline a simultaneous fund-raiser, hosted by uptown socialite Lauren Santo Domingo, for five female congressional candidates, with tickets starting at $1,000.
