Owen Wilson[1]’s movie “Wedding Crashers” seemed to be the inspiration for a Wilson impersonator who “crashed” a fancy Palm Beach, Fla., fund-raiser for Cristo Rey Brooklyn HS.

During the benefit for the school at the oceanfront home of Lisa and James Cohen, the faux Owen posed for pictures and chatted up guests including Leonard Lauren (brother of Ralph Lauren), Jean Shafiroff and Christine Schott, who all thought they were talking to the real “Butterscotch Stallion.”[2]

Sharon Bush, the mother of Lauren Bush Lauren, even posted a photo on Instagram of herself with the fake Wilson — real name Daniel Hartwell — who was brought by another guest as an early April Fools’ Day joke.

Police arrived at 9 p.m. to ask the hosts to have bandleader Alex Donner turn the music down. “Next time, you might want to invite your neighbors!” one cop advised.
