Legendary comedian and Golden Globe recipient Bob Newhart[1] thinks Seth Meyers[2] will get controversial on Sunday night.

“He has to deal with the sexual-harassment issue,” Newhart said. “It’s the 200-pound gorilla in the room.” Like Harvey Weinstein[3]? “Well, the resemblance is amazing,” he said with a chuckle.

The buttoned-down comic won his Globe in 1962 and says these days that “they’ve gotten more legitimate.” Newhart remembers “groaning” when some people won the votes of the shady Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

“I get the feeling the studios went to them and said, ‘You’ve got to clean up your act.’ ” The 88-year-old misses his pal Don Rickles[4], whom he’s sure never won a Golden Globe. “I’d have heard about it, a lot.”
